Venus Inspired Self-Love Cocktail Recipe
When you think of magic the first image that comes to mind is witches standing over a bubbling cauldron stirring a magical potion to put someone under a spell. You don’t initially think of stirring up a cocktail. You can trust me when I say that this Venus inspired cocktail is definitely a magical concoction that will help us tap into our Libra moon energy and attract some self-love.
Now that the weather is nicer it feels like we should all be going outside (please don’t) and enjoying the sunshine and doing things that make us happy. As that is not an option right now, I am instead focusing on building self-love within my home and taking a small pleasure in a delicious cocktail. Whether you’re looking to attract more love (self-love or otherwise) and let go of some of your fears then this is the drink for you.
Behind the Magic
Hibiscus flowers are ruled by the planet Venus and are great to use in love spells and attraction magic. They are pink petaled flowers that vary are a bright fuchsia pink with streaks of red. It is also incredibly fragrant both fresh and dried.
The tincture that I am using today is the Weaving Witch Aphrodite Tincture. Aphrodite is the Greek goddess of love, pleasure, fertility, and beauty. Aphrodite is also the Greek counterpart of the Roman goddess Venus, and a lot of the lore around Venus is based off of the myths of Aphrodite. It makes sense for us to use this tincture if we are looking to attract some beauty and love in our lives.
About the Cocktail
This cocktail is inspired by my two favorite drinks; margaritas and agua de jamaica. Growing up we would have agua de jamaica when the weather was warm or for special occasions. As an adult I love a good margarita when out with friends. What a better way to combine these two delicious drinks than to make this drink with the intention of self-love.
Hope you all like this very special recipe and cheers!
Hibiscus Water Concentrate
Ingredients
4 cups of filtered water
1 1/4 cup of sugar (I like it sweet but you can always add less sugar)
1 cup of dried hibiscus flowers
Instructions
Boil water: Put 4 cups of water in a large pot on medium heat and bring to a boil.
Stir in Sugar: Add sugar to boiling water and stir until it is fully dissolved
Steep Hibiscus flowers. Once the sugar is dissolved add in the hibiscus flowers to the boiling water and let boil for 1 min until a deep fuchsia color. After 1 min you can turn the heat off, cover, and let sit for 15min.
Strain: Strain your liquid into a pitcher or jar. You can discard the hibiscus flowers. I typically like to store the concentrate in a 32oz mason jar to and use as needed but you can also make a full pitcher of hibiscus water
